Bath Bombs Recipes

Bath soap making can make one feel like to be in control of one’s own skin health.

There are few types of bath Bombs which can be done according to the need.

Basic Bath Bomb Recipe

For basic bath bomb, one needs to decide the size of the bomb at first. The ingredients will be 1/2 part citric acid, 2/3 parts of baking soda, witch hazel, coloring according to choice, perfume oil of choice and the mold to put the soap mixture.

The next is the thorough blending of the citric acid and baking soda. This is an important step because unless thoroughly blended, the soap is going to be a grainy one. A mixer is used when the soap production is done in a large batch.

Then one should add the colors. Dry pigments or LA Bombes is best for the soap, though too much of it will show up later, after the addition of witch hazel. Perfume oil is the next ingredient to be added.

After that, the witch hazel is to be poured onto the batch while stirring with the other hand. When your batch sticks together when squished, it is the time to be put into the molds or lese it will get hard. Too much spritzing will make the mixture too wet.

Put the bombs in molds – wait a few minutes and tap them out. Let them air dry for 3 or 4 hours and voila! Wonderful, hard bath bombs. The harder you pack the bath bombs, the more dense, heavy, and durable bomb you will get.

Water Softening Fizzy

It takes the same procedure to make this type of soap also, but there is a little difference because starch is added, it is a little fragile in nature.

After a day’s of hardening, it has to be turned over and the bottom will be misted with witch hazel, and should be allowed to dry another day. The witch hazel forms a crust on the outside keeping it from cracking and falling apart. These are kinds which should not be made damp outside, otherwise it will be very hard.

Moisture Rich Fizzy

Epson salt is added to the ingredients which are dry and wet ingredients are 2-3/4 tablespoons Almond oil, 3/4 tablespoon Water, 1/4 teaspoon Borax (optional) , 1-1/2 teaspoon fragrance oil or essential oil and colorant
The dry ingredients and the wet gradients are mixed in separate containers and then combined, with a wire wisk very fast to prevent fizzing which compacts nicely into molds and get rock hard after drying overnight.

Fizzy Milk Bath Bombs

The ingredients are 1 c. baking soda , 1/2 c. citric acid , 1/2 c. corn starch, 1/3 c. epsom salts (finely ground), 1/4 c. powdered milk (buttermilk will clump so don't use it), 2T olive oil (infusion of calendula petals will make it good for a therapeutic bath), 2tsp melted cocoa butter, 1tsp fragrance or essential oil, 3-7tsp water/witch hazel blend (1:1). TIP: put in a spray bottle for even dispersion.

All dry ingredients are to be mixed together, drizzled with the olive oil, melting cocoa butter and fragrance/essential oil with hands, and then blend witch hazel/water to get the product to the right consistency to shove into the favorite molds.

Super Moisturizing Bath Fizzy

This is the moisturizing type with some of the baking soda being substituted with 1 full cup with dehydrated milk, 1/2 tsp. of liquid food coloring (add 1/8 tsp. powdered food coloring to get a wonderfully vibrant tub).
