Skin Toners

Skin toners are basically used to keep pH of skin and keep skin tight and help in protecting your skin from environmental pollution.

Basically toner is a lotion to shrink the pores and cleanse the skin. toners are typically used on the face. Some people disagreement whether toner is really essential, and you should prefer to use it with plain water.

By using cleanser remove grime, more makeup and cellular debris. Toners also strip the skin of their protective shield. Toners, astringents and fresheners restore the balance of pH of your skin.

You should apply the toner after cleaning the skin thoroughly that has astringent affect. It will tight your skin and close the pores and also save your skin from several toxins floating in polluted air.

There is a wide range of toners in available in the market. You should choose these products carefully for your skin. You shouldn’t use toners having alcohol. It dries and harms the collagen under the skin surface. You should use toners that contain herbals such as honey, lemon, witch hazel, ivy, nettle, sage, and burdock. Essential oils and herbal tea are also the gentle toner for your skin.

Inspite of claims rather fresheners, astringents and toners don’t close the pores of the skin. According to a research it is said that no cosmetic item can modify the normal size of pores. After applying the toner products, what actually happens is a gentle bug of skin till now. After using these products, the skin remains swelled and the pores of the skin will come into view less prominent.

Types of Skin Toners:-

There are different kinds of skin toners available in the market. These are divided according to the ingredients used. Some to the most commonly used skin toners are as follows:-

Skin Fresheners or Bracers:-

Products of this category are the gentlest product among all the variety of toners. Virtually they contain water, no alcohol, and humectants like glycerin. Humectants will help the user in keeping the skin moisture in upper layers of the skin by avoiding it from the process of evaporating. Rosewater is the most commonly used and the most popular example of this category. Toners of this category are the kindest for the use on skin and these are the most suitable product for using on dehydrated, dry, sensitive or normal skin types.

Skin Tonics:-

Product of this category are vaguely stronger and have a small amount of alcohol in it, a humectants ingredient and water. Water of orange flower is the most popular and most oftenly used example of this category. If you have oily, combinational or normal type of skin then use of these products will work best for you.

Astringents:-

The strongest type of the toners is the astringents. These items contain antiseptic, high amount of the alcohol, a humectants ingredient and water. These products are most commonly used for the oily skin. it is used for drying the oily skin. You should be careful about one thing that these creams may lead to stop the production of the natural oil for the skin and it may make it drier. It may be the reason of losing the skin moisturizers.
