The direct exposure of sun can cause lots of harm to the skin. it is the most important reason that causes skin cancer. With the great amount of environment pollution, the ozone layer of the environment is decreasing rapidly, that leaves the humankind unprotected before the direct UV rays. The affected skin loses its elasticity and the amount of free radicals increases rapidly which results in the formation of wrinkles on the skin. In addition the direct UV rays of the sun are the biggest cause of skin cancer. It’s better to protect yourself from the direct sun rays.


Tips to protect the sun exposure:


It is better to avoid direct exposure of the sun mostly during the middle of the day. Mostly, the period of time between 10 AM to 3 PM, is the time when the UV rays are on its high intensity. One can plan the schedule accordingly to avoid the long and direct sun hours in this period of time. The UV rays are also being reflected by the sand and snow, so the people who are in the regular habit of going to the beach or ski resort need to be more careful as the sun rays affects the body from all direction in these places.

Cover the body:

It is very hectic and difficult for an individual to avoid the direct sun exposure in the peak time of the day. So the best option is to use the protective methods. The person who has to spend more time under the direct sun should wear the clothes that cover the most part of the body like long sleeve and long pants. Wearing a hat is a better option as it can protect the neck and cheeks from the sun exposure. It is better to use the light color; the white color is more suitable under the direct sun. Using the umbrella is another option for the protection from the direct sun exposure.

Use sunscreen:

The people who are under prolonged exposure of the sun should always use the sun screen creams. Sun screen with the SPF 15 are most effective against the sun rays. The sun screen is to be applied just 15 minutes before going under the direct sun.

Use sunglasses:

The use of sunglasses is very important for the eyes. It protects the eyes form the UV rays. The most effective sun glass will have the absorption rate of 100%. A special chemical is applied to the lenses to make it resistant to the UV rays.

Drink a lot of water:

The water is one of protective element for the body. Drinking lots of water will give a moisture effect from inside and protect the skin from the UV rays. Other natural drinks like lemon and sugarcane juice are also effective to protect the skin.

Avoid tanning:

The tanning beds and the sunlamps are most harmful place as they make one sit under the direct sun. it is better to avoid the sun tanning at any cost. It will increase the risk of skin cancer to a great extant. In unavoidable circumstances it is better to apply the sun screen with SPF more than 15.

These are some steps which can help an individual to protect the skin from the adverse effects of sun.
