The Sandalwood for Skin Care

Sandalwood is product of sandal that is a tree of tropical region which grows in Indian Subcontinent. The wood of this tree is cropped and powder or oil is made from it. These powder and oil is used for making different products of aromatics category such as incense and perfumes. Sandalwood is very old ayurvedic medicine for several skin conditions and complaints. Sandalwood contains antimicrobial properties that are making it a very popular herbal sterile for treating slight skin abrasions such as burns and cuts. Sandalwood is also effective for conditioning and cleanses the skin to make it free from germs, moisturized and also protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays of sun. Sandalwood oil and sandalwood powder both are made from the sandalwood and you may purchase these products from any herbal shop or online. Sandalwood is an essential ingredient for most of the beauty product like moisturizers, cleansers, and other products because of its mild skin care properties.

Pimple Paste made from Sandalwood:-

The ingredients for this paste are the turmeric, sandalwood powder and water. This paste is usually used for treating acne. Take one teaspoon sandalwood powder and one teaspoon turmeric. Mix both of them and add one teaspoon water for making paste and apply this paste to your acne before going to bed. You may also add a small quantity of camphor in the paste for getting cooling effects. It works as night time treatment.

Rosewater Sandalwood: -

Sandalwood powder mixed with the rosewater may be used for treating acne as a mask. For making this paste, take two teaspoon of sandalwood powder and add enough rosewater in it to make it a spreadable mixture. The paste is now ready to use. Spread it on your face evenly and leave it to dry for 20 to 25 minutes. After drying rinse it from lukewarm water. This is a pleasantly cooling acne treatment. You may also use it on your back and chest as well.

Sandalwood and Lime for Allergy Treatment: -

Sandalwood mixed with lime may be used to decrease the allergy symptoms anywhere on you body. Take one teaspoon of turmeric and one teaspoon of sandalwood powder. Add one teaspoon lime juice in it to make paste and apply this paste on the affected areas of your body. Leave it to dry and wash off after 20 to 25 minutes.

Sandalwood Oil: -

Sandalwood oil has the cooling effect for the skin and it may be used as a moisturizer, for massage and skin soother. If your skin is affected from the itchy and hot symptoms, you should use sandalwood oil to make it cool. You may find this oil from any of the herbal shop easily. You may make your own sandalwood by simply adding a small amount of sandalwood powder in your favorite oil.

These are some home remedies made from sandalwood for caring your skin. Sandalwood is the main ingredient of almost all of the skin care products.
