FACE CLEANSERS

To remove dirt, make up, dead cell from facial skin face cleansers are used followed by toners and moisturizers.

Face cleanser, a facial care product that is used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, dirt, oil and other types of pollutants from the facial skin. It is used to unclog pores and protect skin from acne. Cleanser should be used at twice a day, once in morning while taking bath and other after coming home back from work or before sleeping. Those with oily skin or sensitive skin should use face cleansers evn more times according to their requirement.
A face cleanser should always be followed by toning and moisturizing. Face cleanser are better option than using bar soap for cleaning face because of following reasons:

Bar soap has high pH level than natural skin which is harmful for skin.

Bar soaps clog pores and lead to acne.

Soaps remove natural oils from skin which may end in drying of skin.

Types of face cleansers:

A number of types of face cleansers are developed according to various skin types. Strong cleansers are most suitable for oily skins but they may overdry and irritate dry skin. Creamy lotion-type cleanser is requirement of very dry skin.

Gentle face cleansers
It consists of mild surfactant essentail for clean rinse. It is specially formultaed for normal skin types which gets dry or sensitive after sometime if not treated properly. Most of gentle face cleansers are frangrance free and non allergic. They are best for getting rid of dirt and dust from skin of face.

Liquid face cleanser
It contains glycerin, propylene glycol and cetyl alcohol. It has same pH level as normal skin nad have no fatty acids or alkalies. They are very effective in removing cosmetics and are less irritating.

Milks and Creams
Anti-foaming cleansers, creams and cleansing milks are suitable for the people who have allergies and whose skin is very dry. These kinds of cleansers are made from fruit/plant and almond extracts. These are very gentle and also moisturize your skin while cleansing.

Clays
These foaming cleansers are used by people with oily and dry or sensitive skin, and acne affected skin. It is the gentlest cleansers made for sensitive and oily skin. They are known for making skin soft and smooth as they not only remove dirt from skin surface but also from skin pores.

Oils
Essential oils are makeup removal rather than skin cleansing. They are great at removing waterproof makeup. It is most suitable for dry and combination type skin.

Gels
Cleansing gels are foaming cleansers made especially for oily and acne-prone skin. Their main ingredients are often acne fighting ones like Salicylic Acid.

Foams
Cleansing foams are mostly used for normal or combination skin. They have dual functioning of cleansing skin as well as bringing glow on skin. It is most appropriate for combination skin but two extreme skin type combinations should avoid it.

Bars
Cleansing bars are used for dry skin or very oily skin. They consist of detergents and high amount of glycerin. Bars melt away very fast as they have lot of moisturizer in it. Bars should always be followed by toning and moisturizing or will lead to cracking of skin.
