Skin and beauty care during pregnancy

Some helpful tips to keep beauty and healthy skin during pregnancy is to avoid sun, take nutritional diet, sleep well, moisturize the skin and proper cleansing of face.



The period of pregnancy is very crucial for woman’s skin as there is a lot of fluctuations of hormones happen in this period. In some woman, the natural glows of skin increase because of increase blood circulation while in some other the hormonal changes cause the formation of discolored and dry skin. In most of the women these hormonal changes results in formation of acne, stretch marks and extra-dryness. The skin became more sensitive in during the period of pregnancy and the cosmetic product and fragrance can cause irritation to the skin.

The following are some tips that can be helpful to protect the skin:

Avoid the sun:

During the period of pregnancy the skin became more sensitive to the environmental factors. It is very crucial to avoid going under direct sun, if necessary one should use the sun screen with SPF 15. The stretch marks that appear on the nose and on the cheeks can be worse if exposed to the sunlight.


Proper cleansing of face:

It is important for the pregnant woman to cleanse the skin thoroughly with the mild face cleanser. The skin became oilier during this period. The dirty skin can cause the formation of clogged pores. One thing should always be kept in mind that the skin became more sensitive during this period and use of a harsh cleanser can be more harmful.


Moisturize the skin:

In some women, the skin became drier than before, for this type of skin it is important to keep the moisture to the desired level. The pure water is very good moisturizer, it is better to clean the face two or three times with pure water during this period. The women who have dry skin must use the oily moisturizer to clean the skin.

Eat nutritional diet:

Proper diet is very important during the period of pregnancy not only for the health of skin but also for the overall health of expectant women as well as the child. A balanced diet with proper ratio of vitamin and proteins can be very effective for overall health of skin.


Sleep well:

A sound sleep is very important for the health of an individual. It will help to maintain the hormonal balance of the body. Some of the expectant women experience pain and aches during this period, so it is better to have massage, as it will provide some relief to have good sleep.
Drink plenty of water: drinking plenty of water is very important as it removes toxin from the body and provide moisture to the skin. Mostly during the period of pregnancy, a woman should drink more than one liter of water in a day.

These are some tips which can be helpful to protect the beauty and health of skin during the period of pregnancy. There are many natural products in the market; those can also be used for the beauty of the skin during the period of pregnancy, but it is advisable to use the products which are not harmful for your skin as the skin became more sensitive during this period.
