Message Therapist: Four Different Techniques

The message helps in fighting off ill health, restores the balance in the body and makes the receiver feel more relaxed and stronger. There are various massage techniques available, however a message therapist should be consulted to choose which message is best suitable for you.

Improve Blood Flow, Relieve Tension And Feel Rejuvenated Again

Massaging is effective in curing ailments such as back aches, variable blood pressure as well as to alleviate pain caused by wounds or injuries, as well as to feel more relaxed, after stressful days. Availing a message therapist is advisable in such situations. A message therapist would advise you the best messaging technique which would suit you the best.

There are typically four types of massages that a message therapist may suggest according to your suitability. These would be acupressure, Swedish massage, Deep tissue massage and Shiatsu massage.

Generally, the message therapists are most conversant with Swedish massage. This technique is the most common form of massage in the United States; it facilitates relaxation and better circulation of blood through the body's veins. In this massage, the massager applies oil on the skin with flowing strokes and massage. It helps to relieve the tension from within the muscles.

Acupressure is the ancient Chinese technique in which the therapist uses his fingers to massage. The massage is done by pressing dermal key localized points which relieves the muscles and also promotes better blood circulation. The relaxation of muscles in turn relieves tension in the body and energizes the body with fresh energy. Though acupuncture and acupressure both involve dermal key points concept, acupuncture mostly involves the use of needles but acupressure uses fingers to rejuvenate and relieve body from ailments and tension. It is also effective in relieving the menstrual cramps and constipation.

Another form of massage quite famous among the message therapy is the Deep Tissue Massage. This is a more vigorous kind of message which has a number of different methods for relieving muscle tension. It is curative in relieving chronic pains and aches that includes pain caused by inflammation such as tendonitis. Deep Tissue Massage also facilitates better and freer movement of the body.

In Japan the form of message followed is more of the form of finger pressure which is called Shiatsu Massage. This technique is generally used by message therapist to relieve tension, pressure, improve circulation and is very similar to acupressure wherein the fingers, palms, elbows, thumb, knees are generally used or even sometimes walk on the receiver's body is used to pressurize the acupuncture healing points. This message not only increases the flow of energy but also improves the blood flow and the lymphatic flow. It effectively fights off ill health, restores the balance in the body.
