A Foot Massage is sure to make the feet feel relaxed and comfortable. Some Techniques to be Followed in Giving a Foot MassageFor effective Foot Massage you need to have two or three towels handy as well as enough lotions or creams. For feet having rough calluses and hard skin, a rich cream would be ideal and works better than a hand lotion or oil, although they can be used too. Generally people wish to use creams scented with eucalyptus or mint, both of which work wonders for refreshing tired feet. A natural disinfectant is tea tree oil, or if you wish to make your own concoction, mix a few drops of essential oil with unscented creams. The second thing which you need to remember while giving a Foot Massage is to keep the feet absolutely clean. Soak the feet with a pinch Epsom salt that has been dissolved in a bucket of warm water as it is helpful in de-stressing the foot before the Foot Massage begins. In addition, make sure that the feet are completely dried, even between the toes of the feet before you begin Foot Massage. Start Foot Massage with massaging the feet gently with the massage cream onto the whole foot , one foot at a time and follow a routine with care; starting from top and right down to the bottom and then to the toes and ankles. Then, one needs to work a little more deeply by applying strokes around the feet and working one's way up to the ankles and then on to the soles of the feet. Take care to place a towel below, to protect the recipient's clothes. Apply some more pressure and continue by going over the sole again and again , taking care to apply more pressure on points that may be experiencing chronic pain. When massaging the toes, use gentle and circular motions and stretch the feet a bit as you rub them. Use enough cream and rub the feet gently. Finish the Foot Massage by repeating the all-over massage that was done at the beginning. When the Foot Massage is over, make sure that the soles of the feet are completely dried, to prevent accidental slipping. You will find that once the massage is over, the feet will feel once again, fresh and soft. VISITOR COMMENTS on "Foot Massage: Information and Helping Technique":
