Rosemary: Benefits, Using Tips and Side Effects

Rosemary is actually a very small shrub that stays green always. It is the native of Mediterranean region. Its name was coined out from the Latin name Rosmarinus officinalis. It has a family name that is Labiatae. Rosemary oil is an essential oil that is the most important oil which is used in aromatherapy. The oil is extracted from the flowering top ends of the herb! The aroma of rosemary oil is something like camphor. It has a lot benefits to offer mankind and this was the reason for which it was considered sacred by ancient Greeks and Romans. It has many healing properties and can be used for a variety of health problems. It was used traditionally for muscle pains, sprains, cramps, brighten mood, easing pain, improving mental memory and clarity, relieving head aches, disinfecting and also to energize the body. Along with the advantages it also has a few disadvantages. It is also strongly recommended that rosemary should be completely avoided in case of pregnancy, epilepsy and even high blood pressure. It can even boost up those people who suffer some emotional stress such as disorientation, burnout and even indecision. The effect of Rosemary oil can be enhanced by blending with other oils like the basil, peppermint, frankincense, lavender, citronella, pine and even cedar wood.

Rosemary is widely used as an aromatherapy essential oil. It has the capability to revive, provide warmth, stimulate the senses and even restore it. An advantage of rosemary oil over other oils are that it has quick and essential action over pain relief even without the sedative properties that are promised by other pain relieving oils which are abundantly available in the market. Apart from all these uses, they can also be used as an excellent hair tonic and even fight water retention and cellulite. It has a wonderful effect on the central nervous system and this fact also includes the fact that it could help out in combating degenerative conditions such as chronic syndrome and multiple sclerosis. It is a proven fact that rosemary oils have the ability to improve the intellect and even the left-brain recall of numbers and facts! People having problems to remember events and have a weak memory can use Rosemary to gain some.

Rosemary oil is also used for massage therapy as it helps in circulation of blood due to which muscles get relaxed thereby relieving you from stress. This oil is also beneficial for hair growth and decreases the rate of hair fall. Regular usage of rosemary oil helps in removing dandruff and lowers down graying of hairs. Rosemary oil is very effective if it is used for joint pains. But excess of usage is not advisable as it has side effects and those who are suffering from blood pressures should not use it as it may be dangerous for them.

Rosemary inhalation plays a major role in stimulating the sensory skills such as sight, smell and even speech. It also improves the mental capacity as well as its awareness. It even strengthens the imaginable forces and capability to assess possibilities. It might be surprising to know that in ancient Rome and Greece, students wore rosemary wreaths for improving their memory and mental focus while studying or attending exams.

Rosemary oil is an essential oil that helps a lot in meditation as it stabilizes and clears the mind and makes it clear for valuable practice. Rosemary oils are also used in Ayurveda due to its pungent and warm aroma that helps to rejuvenate and pacify both Vata and Kapha Doshas. Vata has symptoms such as insomnia, restlessness, premenstrual syndrome, constipation, worry, anxiety and nervousness. Whereas symptoms of Kapha Doshas include low metabolic forces, slow lose weight, high cholesterol, stagnation and blockage, fluid retention, depression and even lethargy!

It is always advised to use only the original aromatic oils for better results and safety rather than depending on cheap and duplicate oils that are available largely in the market. So, before purchasing it ensure for it that you get original Rosemary oil. Using them is utter waste and might also lead to side effects. This is because they are not oils that are recommended for therapeutic use. Always depend on certified organic essential oils that are tested pesticide free.
