Colored Gel Candles are rapidly becoming the best selling candles on the market due to their unique beauty and the fact that they burn at least twice as long as regular paraffin wax candles. The transparent gel used to make gel candles has a rubbery texture that glows when the candle is lit. The ingredients which are needed for making gel colored candles are gel, essential oil for fragrance, zinc wicks are preferred as cotton wicks can't be used for gel candles as they absorb the gel in it, embeds which is an optional choice and liquid colour dye. All of these things, which are needed for making colored gel candles, can be obtained from the candle making suppliers. These are also not much costly items and can be bought by every individual. It should be noted that while making colored gel candles, it is very important to use the essential oils and colors, which are specially designed for the colored gel candles. It is not advisable to choose fragrance oil, which is available abundantly outside for making these candles. Another option would be to buy a gel candle making kit which is easily available everywhere. This would be the best choice for a beginner as it will include all the necessary things needed for making colored gel candles and the procedure might also be included. A very important thing, which is needed, is a container and a glass container is preferred mostly. It is due to the reason that these embeds put in them shall be seen by the candle maker. If it is not available any non-flammable container will do the job. It is to be noted that the container should be 2 inches in diameter. The container might be anything from a wine glass or even a wide mouthed vase. These containers can be found from second sales shops etc. Embeds used shall be anything which are non-flammable that should be colored glitter, sand, pebbles, jewels, pearls, shells, gravel, crystals etc. Making a colored gel candle is an easy task. The first step is to spread a little glue in the bottom of the container at the center and to stick the wick onto it with the help of glue and wait for sometime to set. Next step is to melt the gel in a stainless steel container on a medium heat by cutting the gel into pieces. Doing so will help in melting of these gel pieces at evenly at a faster pace. A thermometer is very essential for melting the gel as over heating would lead to loosing of the clarity of the gel. So the gel should be melted at 200 degree Fahrenheit. The temperature should be maintained until the entire gel melt up and becomes smooth like syrup. Now the colour can be added little by little and then add the fragrance and heat the container at 150-160 degree Fahrenheit in the oven. This is done to reduce the bubbles that might be surely present in the gel. Embeds can be added by dipping them in hot gel first and then arranging, the other way round can also be done. Now, pour the gel slowly while it is hot into the container by placing it on a flat surface. It is time for pulling the wick up and rolling with a pencil to keep it straight.
