It is even made as a hobby by many people. It is a very easy task, but should be done with great care as it might lead to accidents that would cost even lives. Always be careful in melting wax as they direct should never be used to melt wax. Always a double boiler is preferred to this job! You can use various household objects as moulds for making a candle. A quick glance in your house will reveal many objects which can be used for moulds. You ca even use empty ice cream tubs, juice cartons, yoghurt pots, fabric conditioner refill cartons, Milk cartons, Baby food jars and many more. All you need to do is use a little imagination and you can create pieces of art with simple day-to-day objects. A burning candle may accidentally cause fires so take always see to it that it is never unattended. Burning candles on heat resistant surfaces minimizes chances of fire hazards. Even your Candle holders should be heat resistant else they might heat up and destroy your furniture. To ensure that the fragrance oil gets incorporated to the candle is not at low temperatures. Add the oils at higher temperatures like 170-190 degrees. You can even recycle wax scraps to create new candles. You can make non- drip candles by keeping them in a salt water solution for 24 hours before burning them for the first time. It is also said that keeping them in the refrigerator works too. But none of them are proven to work. These candle making tips might be of great use even to experts as well as the beginners. Apart from all these tips, some general tips are that while making candles and even after making these, keep them away from children. In the same way, keep them away from pets also.
