Soy Candle Making

Soy candles making is a very simple art that could be followed by anyone. Soy wax is simple great and much better. People who use it say that it is the best to work with. There are many types of soy wax which are available today and each of them have different melting point for them. The first thing to do while soy candle making is to remove all electronic devices and gadgets out of the place you are about to make these. Usually kitchen is the place to do so as things will be present in places where hands can reach!

Unlike other waxes Soy wax is not a petroleum by-product. Soy wax is totally made from vegetable by-product. It doesn't have negative effects on people having breathing problems. Most important of all Soy candle wax is a renewable resource. Thus, if you are environment friendly then soy wax is the right choice for you. Soy supports the nation's financial system and farmers. Soy wax is a vegetable by-product and hence it is non-toxic and even non- carcinogenic. The best feature of Soy wax is that it produces 95% less soot than the regular paraffin candles. It is quite soothing to watch a Soy candle burn as it burns in an even way with a steady flame. Soy candle wax is cooler while burning as compared to paraffin or gel wax. If you notice carefully then you will find that Soy candles burn longer than paraffin candles. The biggest attraction for candle makers is it's easy to clean nature which helps to clean up easily after making a Soy candle.

16 ounces of liquid wax can be gained by melting 1 pound of soy wax. The number of candles that can be made from these wax largely depends on the size of each candles made. It is advisable to write down the ounces of the jar which is used for making candles. Such writings will help in planning the quantity of wax needed for soy candle making. Make sure to leave some space at the top for closing with the lid of the jar. Always make sure to melt the wax at the required temperature only as over heating might lead the candle not to set properly. There occur many problems related to this like turning white of the top of candle, sinking of the top and even smoothing of the top of the candle. For soy candle making, after the wax cools down the next step is to add the scents and stir well so that it gets mixed up well. It is also advised to stir before pouring the melted mixture too. When the wax reaches the pouring temperature or when it starts changing its consistency, pour these candles and clouding up of these could be noted.

Layering and marbling of the candles can also be done. It is a very important way of decoration in soy candle making. In case of layering, pour the mixture after 15 minutes of pouring for the first time. Waiting 15 minutes after pouring helps to set the wax before the next one is poured. For getting marble effect pour the mixture half way with one colour and then pour the next colour after waiting several minutes. The time that is checked for melting, pouring and setting varies with different waxes. Candles after their finishing could be decorated with things like ribbons, charms; craft paper, stickers or whatever items that is needed by the person. Decoration of candles can be done by different techniques adopted by the person itself! It can be creative as it can be depending on the person making it. These soy candle making tips might be of great use even to experts as well as the beginners. Apart from all these tips, some general tips are that while making candles and even after making these, keep them away from children. In the same way, keep them away from pets also. While burning a candle always look out the objects that are present near it.

Given a choice between Soy and paraffin candles, any candle maker will prefer Soy coz of the environment friendliness and ease of use. Soy candles are definitely a better choice over the other candles. You will have to use it to believe it.
