Candle Holders

One of the easiest ways to perk up your house is to add some amazing candleholders to your room decoration. These candleholders are inexpensive and they look amazingly great in any room of the house. And lets face it, if you love candles you require to have some good candle holders or you could be facing quite a problem.

You see candleholders are not only for looks but also for safety. Good candleholders can mean the difference between a candle just going out or burning down your home. If you forget about a candle, which we all do at times, it will be much less likely to start a fire if you have it in one of the many fantastic candleholders on the market today. When the candles are in candleholders they will merely sputter out when they get down low and burn themselves out harmlessly. Of course you still need to make ever effort to make sure you put out the candles before you leave the room but if you do happen to forget one day, you will at least still have a home to come home to.

Anyone, no matter what their taste in home decoration can find some fabulous candleholders. Candleholders come in all different colors, shapes and sizes. You can get cut glass, cut crystal candleholders, venetian glass candleholders or even ceramic candleholders. You can get candleholders that are in the shape of animals, peoples, flowers or just simple random geometric shapes. There are millions of different candleholders for you to choose from. You will never have more fun than shopping for candleholders; the selection can keep you busy for several years.

People might think that these candleholders can only be bought for high values. But it is not the truth as pretty candleholders can be prepared at home itself. They are made from flour and salt. These candleholders are easy to make and the ingredients are available in the kitchen itself. The things needed are hot water, 100g of plain flour, 75g of salt, paints and even clear lacquer or spray varnish.

The first step involved is to dissolve salt in a small amount of hot water and then flour is added and mixed to form dough. Cold water can be added for doughing but the dough should not be made sticky. This is the dough needed for moulding the model of candleholders. It is recommended to have the candle, which needs the holder. This is to measure the size of the candleholder needed. First the base is to be molded. For that rolling of the dough should be done with the rolling pin. A cutter or a glass shall be used to cut a circle from the dough. This circle should be used as the base for the candleholder.

Next step is to take some dough and roll them to reach along the edge of the circle base. Twist the sausage shaped dough together so that they are intertwined to produce a rope like effect. Cold water shall be used as the glue to fix these twisted sausages along the ends of the base. The base can be decorated with certain things like beads etc. A festive flavor can be adopted by adding holly, which is attractive and provides the candleholder a particular glamour. Some dough can be taken with a rolling pin and holly leaf can be cut out with a knife and impressions of vein can be given with the knife itself. Stick the leaf that is made into the twisted edge, then roll out small balls and stick to base of leaf for denoting berries. The next step to adopt would be to keep the completed candleholder in oven for at least 2 hours at low heat. It is kept in oven to dry it so that the wetness is lost. They should be dried without even minute dampness, so for this the completed holder should be dried out for few days after taking from the oven. The next step to be employed is to pain them, spray and varnish them and them they are ready to be gifted. Place the candle in it and admire its beauty.

Home made candleholders look more attractive and wonderful. The varnish is applied so that it lasts for long and does not get dusted soon. These candleholders are soul of the candles. The beauty of candles is complete only when they are kept in the candleholders.
